Okay so I'm not the best blogger...

It's true. I haven't blogged since September and a LOT has happened since then... I got engaged to my dear boyfriend of 2.5 years (actually we got engaged at 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks and 22 hours... :)

Amidst planning for a wedding, taking engagement photos, adjusting to life as a full-time nurse and planning on moving to Colorado, I have NOT blogged a bit.


So this is my first starting 'bit' for 2012, I know, it's already almost May and this is my first entry, but I have to start somewhere.
So welcome back :)

It's been a while since I've blogged...partly because I haven't had time and partly because, well, I forgot I had one for a second :) My mom reminded me I had one the other day when she told me she had been inspired to write, so enjoy her talent with words and think of fall!

We were gifted with a jar of honey today…a JAR! This is no honey bear squeeze-bottle (though I have nothing against honey bears – they are quite sweet!). This is a QUART jar of sticky, flaxen deliciousness…the elixir of the gods – or at least the bees. There are lovely bits of opaque honeycomb floating dreamily along the surface just to remind you that this honey was just harvested…from local bees…a golden glace that is actually good for you, with nutritious properties and potential allergy-resistors. Now how many times do you receive an entire quart jar of honey – for free? From a dear friend and his own hives?

With so much succulent syrup, I couldn’t resist drenching a couple of corn muffins to accompany my evening bowl of soup. Mmmmmmm….thanks Allan!

A(nother) New Beginning...

So here I am...the end of the third day of my new job at a dialysis center, orienting as a nurse, and yet the tingle in my toes and fingers is calling me to make things, create art and then fall into bed and dream up new ideas. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for my new job, but at the end of the day; my dreams are not made up of machines and tubes-unless the tubes can be made into something pretty, or something yummy to eat-no, my dreams consist of the beautiful things in life.

Sometimes beauty and beautiful things can seem superficial or not as important in life as other pressing issues, but to those of you who express beauty in photography, or writing, or in sports you play, or the clothes you wear, or the tattoos you have, or the songs you sing-you understand where I'm coming from.

So welcome to my virtual escape, a place to share photos, projects, food, songs, videos, thoughts and other beautiful things that might otherwise get lost in the sound of machine alarms.
